Bursary places can include:

free entry to the competition

the opportunity to participate in a workshop

the option to have a video taken of a performance

two tickets to allow family members/guardians to attend and support each show in which the student participates

Those who are eligible for a funded place may also request assistance with travel costs for themselves (and for a parent or guardian who accompanies them to the various stages of the competition).

The eligibility criteria for funded places are set out below. An applicant must meet at least one of the following:

be currently in care
-
be a full time carer for a parent or sibling

be in receipt of free school meals
-
live in a low income household

(A household is in low income if the occupants live on less than 60% of the UK’s median income. The median household disposable income in the UK was £32,300 in the financial year ending (FYE) 2022 as per the Office for National Statistics (ONS) Household Finances Survey. A “household” comprises either one person living alone or a group of people, who may or may not be related, living (or staying temporarily) at the same address.)
