WHO WE ARE
West End Calling is a registered charity with a goal to give opportunities and experiences to young performers all over the country to learn and develop in the creative arts. We are passionate about helping young people improve, grow and build confidence in a professional setting whilst supporting performers with varying levels of experience.
We understand that regional cities don't always get the same exposure to West End workshops and top level opportunities, which is why we take our services all over the country.
OUR STORY
West End Calling was founded in 2016 as a way for young people to experience auditioning and performing in the industry in a professional setting. In the past 8 years of competitions, we have seen thousands of young people come through the door and are proud to be part of their journey.
As a registered charity, we aim to keep our competition as affordable as possible and are able to support those who might not otherwise be able to take part. Our bursaries and outreach encourage young people from all backgrounds to experience what we do.
BURSARIES
We are committed to making our competition accessible to everyone, which is why we offer bursaries for those who may not have the means to participate. These bursaries provide free access to auditions, headshots, and workshops, and in some cases, we can assist with travel costs and offer free tickets for parents and carers to support their young talents.
As a charity, we believe in empowering young people from all backgrounds, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to take part!

OUTREACH
We are dedicated to reaching diverse areas across the country where access to theatre is often limited. Our outreach initiative focuses on introducing young people to the world of theatre and sparking interest and creativity in communities who may not have as much exposure to theatre.
We do this through our free school workshops, where we bring the magic of the arts to those who may not have had the chance to engage with it before. We also collaborate with local youth groups and charities, with an aim to empower the next generation of performers and theatre lovers, opening doors to new possibilities.

"Our students absolutely loved the session Alex and Harriet ran in our academy. We had a wide range of students across a few year groups and they instantly put our students at ease. They were engaging, fun and inspired our students. The warm ups were so fun, even the teachers got involved. They made them feel comfortable and taught in a way that allowed all of our students to feel included and they were able to sing beautifully in 2 part harmony by the end of the session. Their industry experience has been aspirational for our students and they were able to ask lots of questions about audition processes and working in the industry. Speaking to the students following the workshop, they were absolutely buzzing. They really enjoyed the session!”
