My name is Alexa Young

The first round of the competition is the Audition round. Here they will perform for our panel of West End judges, accompanied by our musical director on the piano.

In the Auditions, contestants are asked to prepare a 90 second  'audition cut' of a musical theatre style song. They will need to bring sheet music for the pianist and will talk through tempos and any cuts before they sing.

Brand new to our 2025 competition, every contestant will have access to a group audition workshop where they will be talked through how to select and prepare your music as well as the practicalities of speaking to the pianist and general audition technique.

In the audition room, they will perform in front of our panel of West End performers, accompanied by our musical director on the piano and receive feedback which we also email out to you afterwards. Contestants find out via email if they are through to the Heat round.

At the Auditions, we offer the chance to have your headshot taken by a professional photographer. Headshots are important in the performing industry as they are often the first thing that casting directors see of you.
