(C) West End Calling 2019

West End Calling is a national competition for musical theatre performers giving fantastic opportunities to young people all over the UK! We began our journey in 2016 and have since hosted 4 years, each year auditioning hundreds of contestants in cities across the country.

Why should you enter?

  • Get feedback from industry professionals (each round gives more chances to get tips and advice from west end performers to help you be successful as a performer!)

  • Professional audition experience (perfect for drama schools and other auditions)

  • Meeting other like minded performers!

  • Win awesome prizes!

  • Performing in a variety of venues including a WEST END THEATRE!

West End stars from shows such as Wicked, Hamilton, Waitress, The Book of Mormon, Les Miserables and Mamma Mia (to name but a few) judge each round of the competition and give their expert opinions and advice. Click the pictures below to check out our Venues, Judges and Prizes pages!

The competition is set up in 4 rounds which are explained below. Each round gives contestants a chance to perform in front of a variety of different audiences and in different theatres.

The audition is in front of an industry panel of West End stars and you will sing a musical theatre song of your choice, before receiving some feedback. They will then make a decision as to whether you have successfully gained a place in the heat round. You will be notified of this within a week of your audition by email. Auditions last about 5 minutes per person

The Heats are set up in two parts – First Heat and Semi Final. In each of these rounds, you will perform a song to an audience made up of mostly family and friends as well our judges. These rounds will generate our final contestants who will go head to head in the Grand Final.

The competition culminates at our Grand Final, at a theatre in London’s West End, where our final acts get to perform to a bigger audience to impress our Judges who will select our Winner.
